California Bay Area resident, Leslie Swartz, has been producing art on a full-time basis for more than ten years.   Her subject matter is as varied as the media she is inspired to use.

For more than 20 years, Leslie lived and worked in Zimbabwe, Africa, and continues to be inspired by the culture of the people she lived amongst, as well as the beautiful natural surroundings.  Whilst there she raised her 3 kids, and enjoyed teaching upper elementary school children.

Upon returning to California, she became actively involved in her community's grassroots activities, which included membership in the local art gallery.  For its exhibitions, Leslie experiments with various media, such as oils, pastels, pen and ink, graphite and Batik to create large and small scale works.

Leslie gets her inspiration from her many travels, working in the garden, and by conversing with other local artists.  Her favorite go-to artists are Georgia O'Keefe and Vincent van Gogh, as well as a few contemporary ones.
